Domaine La Tour Boisée

Depuis le début notre volonté est de partager cet héritage commun avec l’Espagne pyrénéenne : la puissance, la douceur, la rondeur, et la « buvabilité », le plaisir en somme ! Nous sommes très attachés à nos racines, les cépages qui ont traversé les époques, notre culture d’assemblage et ce brin d’esprit libre exprimé dans chaque millésime et au vignoble : les cépages autochtones ne connaissent pas le palissage !

For as long as I can remember we have worked to share our common heritage with the Spanish Pyrenees: powerful, soft, round, drinkable wines. Abandoning our roots is out of the question; we keep our mind open to the evolution of time however we also cultivate traditions such as the blending of grape varieties and the selection of the native grapes varieties which survived time, all of them growing naturally without trellising. I feel that in some way, the Grenache and Carignan’s freedom mirrors our own…

Domaine La Tour Boisée, situé à 25 kilomètres à l’est de Carcassonne, se compose aujourd’hui de 82 hectares de vignoble et de quelques 2500 oliviers, culture relancée en 1990. Depuis 1982, Marie-Claude, fille du domaine, a repris avec Jean-Louis, lui-même descendant d’une longue lignée de vignerons, la destinée du vignoble ; et déjà la génération suivante est partie prenante. Dès le commencement nous n’avons eu de cesse, après avoir pris soin de conserver les vieux vignobles dans les plus beaux terroirs, d’améliorer notre plan d’encépagement. Il en résulte aujourd’hui une gamme complète tracée depuis le parcellaire. C’est à la Tour, rescapée de la fortification du village (XIIème siècle), à présent située dans le jardin, que le Domaine doit son nom.

Family estate since 1826, Domaine La Tour Boisée is located in the South of France (Languedoc), 25km East of Carcassonne in the heart of the Minervois Wine Appellation. 200 acres of vineyards and over 2500 olive trees, some of which date back to the 17th century. In 1982, Marie-Claude along with her husband Jean-Louis, himself a vintner from a long line of winegrowers, took over the direction of the estate from her parents. Today, in keeping with tradition, the next generation is lending a hand. Over time, the family has taken care to conserve the finest of the old varieties while updating and improving the rest of the vineyard.

The result is a rich diversity of wines, each of which can be traced back to a specific plot of vines.

The tower (tour in French), for which the Estate is named, is a remnant of the village’s fortifications dating back to the 12th century and can be found today in the garden of the Estate.
